My mother stopped in 1976. She is no longer a die hard Carpenters fan, but I continue it in our family. I am just curious to see when other people or people in their family stopped buying their albums. If you werent alive in that time, please just take a guess at which year you HONESTLY would have stopped buying their albums. And if you never stopped, just disregard this post.

Well, doesn`t look like any of us have stopped yet :P
Good!!

But if I was alive back then and I should be totally honest and I would take a guess on when I would have stopped, I guess I must honestly say mid april 1979, but I am just guessing here people. But to be honest I guess I would have stopped then as there wasn`t all that much to buy as they did`n`t release anything for some years. But I would honestly buy the solo album if released and MIA, but honestly I will guess that I will never stop bying their records. To be honest, I don`t think most you will either. But honestly, I`m just guessing here people!

Christian - just an honest guesser :D

I stopped buying Carpenters albums last month. I may resume again though if something new comes out! As for my family and friends, most stopped with "The Singles" or "Horizon." It seems that the Nixon connection did not help plus the majority of the public jumps on the next wave after a couple of years. All in all, Karen and Richard did pretty well for being so uncool or not groovy or however we used to say in the old days.
