Karen Digitally Inserted With Another Sing...

smw's Photo smw 30 Apr 2004

Celine Dion did it with Frank Sinatra...Natalie King Cole did it with her dad, Nat....why doesnt a singer today, digitally insert themselves into a famous Carpenters song? That would be awesome. But who should the famous singer be?

Richard would not like that idea.

Hi smv

I would agree, I think Richard has spent far too long perfecting, remixing, preserving their legacy that I don't think he'd do this, BUT if you're asking: :P

I'd like to see Karen 'duet' with singers such as

Barbara Streisand
either of the ABBA girls
and Olivia would be touching!!!

Definitely Olivia.

I would love to have seen the two close friends really duet together.

Perhaps they could fuse Karen and Frank Sinatra's voice together. That would be great.

Richard is the king of gag orders and legal restraints. He is very protective of the Carpenter music and image as he should be and that is why he does the remastered recordings so that the music does not pass over into the public domain. And yes, I talk to Richard regularly, along with God and Ghandi.

I went to see Richard in concert around '97. Richard also played a duet with himself. Richard played the piano at a stage and Richard in a video played the harpsichord.

Have you seen Richard in solo concert? Didn't he play to a video? :yawn

Maybe one of his children may do it with Karen in the future(?) ;)

I'm surprised that Karen never sang with Barry Manilow. I'd think that would have been a natural thing to do.

That Top of the World video was kinda sad. To see an aged Richard with Karen still in time. It had to be hard to watch.... I know for me it's hard to see my sons grow up and get older but see my youngest son forever 3. :P So I dont like seeing that video. Once was enough for me. That's one thing Japan can keep ;)
