Hi,

I have been offered a cd with a 1978 Christmas concert and was wondering if it genuine. Does anyone if there was a Christmas concert in 1978, and maybe even which songs that were performed.

This is the tracklist of the cd:

1. Christmas Time /Opening, 2. Merry Christmas Darling, 3. Silent Night, Holy Night, 4. Intro / 5. Nutcracker Instrumental Medley, 6. Ave Maria, 7. Happy Holiday Medley, 8. It is legit. It was from the Christmas Winter Festival held at Long Beach in 1978. I own the CD too and can verify that it is real.

You know what Christian, I think this is the other Christimas CD. The one from Long Beach is their final live performance. It was performed at Long Beach . The other Christmas CD is one where it is just Richard from 1987. I'll see what it looks like, but if I remember correctly it is green. I'll get back to you for sure though.

Definitely with this track listing -Richard's 1987 solo Christmas special as Carpenters December 1978 University concert proved to be sadly their last official
concert appearance together

If you check Ray Coleman's Bio -Richard explains that due to his pill addiction and ill -health , this planned concert was reduced to a few tracks only.Anything complex to play on keyboards was dropped ....

I am surprised Richard performed Close / Star medley as this is difficult to play
-other Christmas tracks were dropped -but this performance is a treasure of Karen singing classic Christmas songs

I would really like a vhs/dvd of their Christmas specials. I've seen clips of them on specials/bios, but never the whole thing.

I LOVE their Christmas music as much as non-holiday music of theirs. (-: It makes me feel great.
