Does anyone know if karen went to Studio 54 while she was in New York in 1979? She could have really let loose there!

Actually, she was supposed to go one night... I cant think who it was supposed to be with.. I have to look it up. But she was feeling well and didnt go. That place was very umm....loose to say the very least! I dont know how well Karen would have done there.... but it probably would have made the news considering her reputation as sweet.

Unless someone else gets the details before me... I'll take a look.

What's Studio 54!?

It was a famous New York Disco nightclub. It was notoriously wild with lots of sex, drugs and drinking going on. A big bundle of hedonistic partying! From what I've heard it was very hard to get in unless you were famous or rich.

Yeah, you had to be rich or famous to get in, but also very attractive since there's was one person at the door who would pick the best looking ones and allow them in...

I asked my mother this morning about it. She said it was always quite crowded and on the expensive side, but that she never saw any sex or drugs going on while she was there, and she said she went regularly. So maybe all the wild things went on in some backroom or something! She said it was always really crowded though, lots of disco lights and loud music

And it was on 54th street - makes sense! My mom's not rich or famous, but she did have pretty wild hair back then - maybe that's why they let her in!

I heard that Liza Minnelli went there frequently! I don't think Karen would have been comfortable there!!!

I don't think so either. She was too wholesome for such a place. Then again she did hate that image so she might have felt impelled to go there as an act of rebellion. I know I have felt like that on times.

I think Karen would have visited it just to check it out, see what it was all about. It was a very famous and infamous place so she must have been curious about it. I don`t either think it was her sort of place, but being i New York, taking a new and more open direction in life, she would have popped in just to see it and meet friends from showbiz.
But I bet it would have been reported in every magazine if she visited, maybe that would not have been a bad think. maybe people would have given her a break with that goody two shoes image. But I know of at least one person who would not have been happy about it
But I think it would have been fun for her, a totally new experience.

What about "Danceteria", or the "Copacabana"?
Those were great clubs back in the early 80's, Danceteria closed a long time ago, but the Copacabana closed in '98 and it was very nice!
Do you think Karen visited? They weren't as wild as Studio 54, though they had a bad reputation too!
