Ohhhhhh I do have to disagree!! Judith Durham, DEFINATLY has the best voice I have EVER EVER EVER EVER heard. Karen is second tho. For those who don't know who Judith is, she was with The Seekers, a 60's group from Australia. They are still around, after a reunion in 1993. They sung Georgygirl, Morningtown Ride, A World Of Our Own, The Carnival Is Over.

LOL I do love The Seekers as well. I didn't realize they were from Australia... I never did any digging into the biography. Interesting.

For me Karen's voice is the most wonderful that I've heard, Frida Lyngstad's voice is awesome too, FOR ME, both are the best singers in the world, but we all have different thoughts about it and I respect your point of view:)

Yuh, they are from Melbourne. I also love Frida, Agnetha is great too!! But, yeah, I LUV Judith, hehehehe I even went to New Zealand just to see her, and got to meet The Seekers. Anyway!! Judith & Karen do sing very different types of music, so maybe, if Judith was to try & sing some of Karens songs, I might end up prefering Karen, if that makes any sense!! So, I'll just say, I luv Judith for her style, & Karen for her style!!

I recently subscribed to a Music account on line and was able to listen to the catalogue of the Carpenter's songs.... Songs that played in the background of my life as i grew up in the 70's. Everyone loved the Carpenter's ... not everyone would admit it... but don't be fooled everyone loved their songs. Karen has a timeless voice. She can only be compared to those songstress' who have that quality where they always sound young like Ella Fitzgerald.... For me Karen Carpenter was the greatest singer of my generation.... and when I hear her sing now... I feel a melancholy at her loss... but am grateful that I am able to still hear her lovely angelic voice through the recordings she has left behind...

Absolutely Great post scout and I couldn't agree more ! Karen was to me, and beacuse of her percussion skills, the most talented and my favorite individual music performer ever. Being a musician and long time music lover, I think of her so very often

Hi! I've worked in the music industry(thank you Herb Alpert!),and I must say, Karen was the best, of the, of the very best! In looks, or any other area!!! She was the most beautiful, and gifted singer of all time, male, of female! In a word- god's gift to mankind!
