I've heard of her in a vague sort of way, but when I actually listened to her voice....I was blown away at how much she sounds like Karen!!!! Even though these are done as "dance" music...listen to her voice!!!

I have downloaded her album of Carpenters covers some time ago and I don't actually feel she sounds similar to Karen at all... she ONLY sings in the same keys, I guess.

I think that there has been some clever editing and anywhere Jenny sounds weak the music has been turned up, but I don't think it's fair to say that there are no similarities.

I don't think that she would have got as far as she has if she couldn't pass quite comfortably as sounding reasonably close to Karen.

I also like her version of "Only Yesterday" with the burly backing dancers and think that Karen could have done with something like that now and then instead of her brother playing the piano in a tuxedo. Imagine Agnes's face if Karen had had a raunchy dance act on stage with her !

How "far" is that??????

It isn't Karen... I've listened to this person and I don't think she does sound similar.. she isn't very far in her career and I agree with the statement that said the music is clever in how it gets loader when she becomes weak.. maybe she's just trying to get some notice/attention by using her voice as a comparison to KC... it isn't even close! I have nothing against the girl, but I don't think she's that good.

As the second one is called the "Karenific Remix", I think it actually is Karen and the original "Only Yesterday" that has been re-mixed.




I would say that it is reasonably close, although the more I listen the more differences I can spot.

Jenny's lower register has some similarities to Karen's, but her higher register, not so much.

The Japanese girl, Keiko Touge, sounds closer to Karen in my opinion but she is not singing in her native language, so some of the words don't sound right and therefore I don't think she gets taken that seriously.

Then it is a matter of opinion. I don't think it is and you do!

Opinion is that she DOES sound like Karen.........no matter the song...
