Interesting Idea For A New Release?

I would love to have a CD(s) that would include the original album release of a single, the single release, and a later remix of that single. If by chance the album/single release were the same, then it would be only represented one time.......

Last saturday I was thinking something like that. I was so happy when I woke up that morning, that my mind brought back the song "Saturday", and right then I thought "OMG!, it's been years since the last time I listened to the tan album. So I put the CD; it's not the remastered Carpenters CD that came out several years later, it's the first release on CD from the 80's. I enjoyed so very much the sound of the original remixes.
But, on the other hand, about your question, I think, haven't we had already enough with remasters of the same songs, and then going back to the original mixes with the "Remastered Series", saying "Oh! the original sound is so fresh!"and then, ONCE AGAIN, going on to another remaster sound OF THE SAME SONGS!!! My God! I think I have about 20 CD's with YesterdayS Once More, and Only YesterdayS, TicketS to Ride, TopS Of The worldS, SuperstarS ......

It's a great idea but only the hard-core fan would consider purchasing something like that.
I was thinking about burning my own CD like that. And also, one with all of the Beatles covers back to back with the Beatles' version.

I was thinking about that also......I have all of the albums (vinyl), and all on mp3 (just not sure if original or remastered)....but I don't have all of the original singles, some of which are different from the album cuts......
I did several CDs with covers of the carpenters and songs that they covered.....don't listen to it much, but am glad that I have it.....

I think it would be great to have a "year-by-year" collection, so that you could see everything that was done in a specific year eg there could be a "1973" DVD that had all the singles, the albums they came from plus the other tracks, as well as the concerts and all the interviews.

Actually...I'd LOVE to hear about the release of some of the concerts Richard taped over the years!!!! I know he taped everyone and listened to them for problems. Can you imagine a combined album of those tapes??
Of course...he'll never do that.
