Frequently Asked Questions
I receive quite a few emails from readers and thought it
would help lower the amount of emails by making a list of
frequently asked questions.
- Does Richard Carpenter own this website and/or do
you have his address?
Simple answer here... no to both. But if you are looking
to contact his manager to request an interview or performance
with Richard Carpenter, contact me with specifics and I
will forward the information. But I can NOT do this for
personal requests from fans, sorry.
- What was Karen's drumset setup?
Karen used Ludwig drums, 2 sets. Each
set consist of: bass, 20" snare, high hat, 13" top tom,
2floor tom toms, 14"& 16", concert toms - 4", 6",
8" & 10" and Zildjian
cymbals. Her petal is a
Rogers pedal and she used No. 11A
drumsticks.
- Where can I find their TV specials?
Their TV specials were not released to my knowledge. And
really don't have hopes of them ever being released.
Alot of trouble to go through I suppose in getting permissions
because of all the special guests that appeared in them.
- Where can I find the lyrics to 'this song'?
There are many lyric sites out there. I would rather put
my focus on developing other aspects of this site and leave
the lyrics to them. If you do a google.com search, you
will find just about any song of the Carpenters. Example:
Close To You Carpenters lyrics
- Was Karen Carpenter and her parents moved from Forest Lawn?
Yes. Richard Carpenter moved them closer to his home.
I will be putting up photos her their new resting place soon.
- What exactly
is Anorexia Nervosa?
You can find a lot of information on Anorexia Nervosa online. Doing a search comes up with hundreds of links.
- Who is
Steven Levenkron?
He was Karen Carpenter's therapist in New York City for
a year.
This is an article concerning his idea's on treatment for
Anorexia Nervosa. You can find an audio of an interview
with him (not regarding Karen) here and
also his website.
- Movie about
Karen Carpenter?
A movie was made about The Carpenter's. Mostly
about Karen Carpenter's life and struggles with Anorexia
Nervosa.
The movie isn't completely accurate but a good one to see
anyway.
You can only find this in auctions unfortunately.
Also, what is the last song Karen is singing in this movie?
The song is called "Now". Said to be the last
song recorded and the only recording of the song. It was
a track made for the musicians to work off of.
- Autopsy Report?
This isn't the complete detailed report. These
reports are rather graphic and would serve no purpose for
any readers here. But this is the first page or so
which gives an idea of the founding's.

- Did the Carpenters own apartment complex's?
Yes they did! They bought two which are found in California.
They are called "Close To You" and "We've
Only Just Begun".
- What do you know about Tom Burris?
Absolutely nothing. The last time Tom Burris saw Karen
alive was November of 1981 during a birthday of Harold
Carpenter (the father of Karen and Richard). He left
the party saying "you can keep her" and that
was that. Karen was going with Olivia Newton-John to
sign the final divorce papers on the day of her passing.
I have heard nothing of Tom Burris. No interviews or
comments regarding Karen or the family. Maybe out of
respect for the family? Who knows.
- Where can I find 'this or that" album or CD?
Alot of their CD's have been remastered and you can find
them in stores or online CD stores, including imports.
There are some rare ones like Richard Carpenters "Time" CD
that is hard to find and usually can only be found on
Ebay.com from time to time. But it can run you anywhere
from $30-$50.00 in auctions.
- Do you have any pictures for sale?
No I do not. I won't be offering pictures in the future
either. There are a couple of pictures you can purchase
through this site here,
but that is all I have to offer.
- Do you offer downloads of their music?
Sorry, I cannot offer downloads of their songs here. I
could get in big trouble for that! The audio/videos I
offer are the ones submitted by Sydney in Brazil of their
radio interviews and video recorded their during their
visit in 1981. I may in the future offer clips of shows.
